Dog Grooming Tips
How to maintain a healthy coat in between appointments
By choosing Dial a Dog Wash for regular personalised dog grooming in Coventry and Warwickshire, you are keeping your dog’s coat in optimum condition. Here are a few pointers for keeping him or her clean and healthy in between our visits.
- Dog grooming should be a pleasant experience for your pet – be gentle at all times
- Brush out the coat first, using a slicker brush if the condition of the coat is good. Never brush too hard - this can result in painful ‘brush burn’.
- Please don’t try to de-matt or cut out knots yourself using scissors – it is all too easy to cut too close and nick the skin.
- If you wish to shampoo your dog never use human or baby shampoo. We recommend you use a pet formulated shampoo to enhance the coat’s moisture and health and our products (shampoos, conditioners and treatments) are all chemical free, natural products.
- Beware bathing a dog with matted hair. This tightens matts and makes them harder to remove by our dog groomers. Your pet’s skin could also become irritated by residual damp and shampoo in the matts.
- Regular visits from Dial a Dog Wash Coventry and Warwickshire are the easiest and most convenient way to keep your dog’s coat looking and feeling fantastic.
